Nate Hunter was born and raised in Nashville, TN where he graduated from Hume-Fogg Academic High School. After earning his diploma, he began studies at Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, FL, and finished at Tennessee State University in Nashville, in pursuit of his bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, with foci in English Literature and Sociology.

Growing up, he enjoyed playing football and baseball. As an adult he began studying Wado Ryu Karate in which he earned my 5th degree Black Belt and became an instructor for fifteen years. Teaching martial arts and fitness that led him to his life’s passion, education. 6 years ago, he started in Metro Nashville Public Schools as an ISS monitor, then went on to become a Restorative Practice Assistant. After earning his teaching certification through Nashville Teacher Residency, he began teaching 8th grade ELA at Isaac Litton Middle School in 2022. Nate was introduced to Be About Change through mutual friends and has led several groups, including fitness and communication modules.

In his spare time, Nate enjoys tasty food and good times with friends, fitness, All Things Summer, and watching the Tennessee Titans do whatever they decide to do on any given Sunday.
